Black fungus promotes rural revitalization

Farmers were busy picking black fungus in the cultivation field of Maxi Village, Baiyangxi Township, Luxi County on March 22.

“My home is nearby, and I have been working here since the mushroom sticks were put. I earn 100 yuan a day and over 2,000 yuan a month,” said a villager from Maxi Village. “Taking advantage of the good weather in the past few days, we need to rush to pick, dry and sell black fungus,” the base head was busy packing and handling black fungus.

In 2023, the village introduced the black fungus cultivation technology, adopted a benefit-coupling mechanism of company plus village collective plus base plus farmer, and transferred 25 mu (about 1.67 hectares) of land to implement rice-fungus rotation production. 200,000 sticks of high-quality black fungus have been cultivated, and the characteristic agricultural product of Maxi Village’s black fungus has been launched. Now, 12,150 kg of dried black fungus have been harvested and processed, achieving an income of 729,000 yuan. The black fungus industry has driven more than 50 idle laborers in the surrounding areas to work locally, with an per capita income increase of over 3,000 yuan, indirectly driving more than 20 households to increase income.

This effectively improves the economic situation of local farmers, and achieves the harvest of economic crops and grain production.

By creating characteristic industries at doorsteps, the village collective economy has been strengthened,  and farmers have got real benefits.

The company head introduced that the company will further strengthen the construction of the demonstration base for the whole industrial chain production of black fungus sticks in Maxi Village, create an industrial park of one-million fungus sticks and high-standard black fungus production and processing, and form a new pattern for implementing the rural revitalization strategy.
